· Empathy of the clinician “seeing the world through the client’s eyes”.

· Self-efficacy is supported by instilling hope and empowering the client.

· Assisting the client with learning to change their “people, places and things” to ensure sobriety.

· Developing a safety plan with the client to guard against relapse and how to handle difficult situations that may trigger client to use.

What is IOP?

Intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a treatment service and support program used primarily for chemical dependency and addiction that does not rely on detoxification. IOP is provided over a 16 weeks with classes three days a week, for three hours each day.

What is OP?

Outpatient program (OP) is a less intensive treatment service for chemical dependency and addiction and typically follows IOP in a service plan. OP is an eight weeks course for two days a week, three hours each day.

What is Aftercare?

Aftercare assists clients with maintaining sobriety. Aftercare focuses on relapse prevention and safety planning for potential relapse. After care is six weeks for one day a week, three hours each day.

Who is IOP/OP/Aftercare for?

IOP/OP/Aftercare is designed primarily for individuals who have exhibited some type of dependency or addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Clients are usually referred through DCS, courts, attorneys and/or probation to complete services as part of their intervention and recovery plan.

How it works

IOP/OP/Aftercare helps the client begin to learn the mental, social and biological aspects behind addiction. It also helps the client gain additional insight into how drugs and alcohol have negatively affected their lives and how to learn to live a sober life.

IOP/OP/Aftercare also assists the client with learning how negative thinking errors and past trauma can aide in developing drug and alcohol dependence.
